From the rampant use of steroids in major league baseball, to the steady stream of professional wrestlers dying of heart attacks from supposed steroid use, we have all been exposed to the affects steroids can have on individuals and organizations. The community that abuses steroids more than any other is the bodybuilding community. In our society that no longer values delayed gratification, men and women alike turn to anabolic steroids to quickly build muscle and burn fat.</p>
<p>The truth is that steroids do provide an extreme boost in testosterone that leads to extreme fat loss and muscle growth. By the way, steroids are not just used by men bodybuilders, but are also a large problem in <a href="http://www.rippedout.com/female-bodybuilding.php">female bodybuilding</a>. Does anyone really believe that the women in the televised bodybuilding championship competitions naturally achieved their physiques? Women do not naturally build a 180 pound body with 8% body fat &#8211; it just doesn&#8217;t happen. Those kinds of female physiques are developed through steroid use.</p>
<p>Since steroids are so effective at quickly providing muscle building and fat loss results, why aren&#8217;t more people using them. First, they are illegal. Second, they are expensive, but most importantly, the negative side effects of steroid use has been well documented and is enough to make anyone second guess their decision to start injecting their body with steroids. Prolonged steroid use leads to extreme mood swings, hair loss, smaller testicles and erectile dysfunction in males, severe acne, heart disease and the cessation of natural testosterone production by your body. Dr. Marius Bakken has won several 5000 m events in his home country. He also participated in the 2000 and 2004 Olympics.</p>
<p>He never really saw himself as a marathon runner, but he did show above average skills even then. When he got really serious about running, he even trained in Kenya and Italy. He noticed that he was the fastest non-African runner in the 5000 m event and that is why he trained in Kenya to know how the runners there train. When Stefano Baldini, an Italian runner, won the gold in the 2004 Olympics, he decided to train in Italy.</p>
<p><strong>Sharing what he knows</strong></p>
<p>In 2007, he retired from competing and focused on studying medicine. Dr. Bakken is both an experienced runner and a medical doctor. It is his background that made him develop this 100 day marathon plan.</p>
<p>This plan is a mixture of Kenyan and Italian training methods. He is sharing everything that he knows to runners who want to be good at the sport. The book was formally released in July 2009.</p>
<p><strong>Different levels</strong></p>
<p>This training guide is not a linear path towards improvement. A runner can actually choose a specific finishing goal time. There are 8 different choices. Technically, this training program does not have to be a full 100 days. It can last from 60 to 150 days.</p>
<p>As opposed to what other people say, this book does not instantly make a runner run faster. It takes a lot of work.  With the help of this eBook, a runner at least has a plan to follow. They can adjust the training plan as they improve.</p>
<p>This eBook is actually made for marathon runners by a marathon runner. Due to his medical background, Dr. Bakken made sure that the training program lessens the risk for injury and over training. Beginners can get a better understanding of what they need to do to endure a marathon.</p>

<p>Strength training is not only for the men.  It may seemed that you don&#8217;t usually see women holding dumbbells and strengthening their biceps. However, there are many physical and  psychological benefits that can result from a strength training program.  For example, weight exercising is known for improving your joint&#8217;s  health.  As we get older, it also helps us to keep our bones strong. So  there are many good reasons to have a safe and practical strength training program.</p>
<p>Of course, you need to start off with a goal in mind when you are doing strength training.  For me, I like to run.  And, to do that regularly, believe me you need to have consistent energy and strength in both your back leg muscles.  I like to start off with a simply squat down and back up again to a standing position exercise to build my leg muscle strength. I am a fan of using weight training machines, and I find that leg  extensions can help build these muscles to strength quickly.</p>
<p>Besides running, I like to strengthened my arms.  I do weights to boost up my strength on my biceps and triceps.  It also helps them to look &#8216;good&#8217;.  A little strength training on the arms could go a long for strength and health.  I like to go to the gym with different sets of workout equipment to help me do it right.  It is also a good idea to get a qualified strength training instructor to help with this training.</p>
